Short of stature and a little stooped with age, Gordon was a quiet man with a ready smile, one who welcomed folks with a warm greeting and friendly handshake.

By reading his first publication "Broken Bricks," and now "Teakettle Wood," you will discover the author's spiritual awareness of God and His amazing creation.

Born in Woodstock, Ontario, while the First World War was raging, he was lovingly cared for by his mother and two-year old sister. Gordon was in his third year before his father returned from overseas service. Later, the arrival of another sister made the family complete.

1921 marked their move to the country, and the beginning of farm life in the Township of East Zorra.

Gordon's academic education was gained in a one-room schoolhouse, and then in Woodstock Collegiate Institute. The latter meant travelling by bicycle or horse-drawn vehicle.

Married to Lillian Norrington in 1939, they were blessed with one son, Ronald.

Gordon passed away on August 5 of 2011. Lillian passed away on Oct. 15, 2016, at the age of 99.
