Driftwood Mirror While we were serving with Trans World Radio on the Island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles, we often had friends come to visit. Situated 50 miles off the northern coast of Venezuela, South America, the eastern shore of this semi-desert island provided delightful driftwooding excursions. Pieces of wood floated in from other Caribbean islands, South America, and even Africa, along with fresh cocoanuts, running shoes, fishing nets, and plastic junk! We learned to bring water along to wash the salt spray off our sun glasses! When a departing guest could not stuff one more thing into her suitcase, we inherited this beautiful knothole-piece of driftwood which Lloyd has reproduced in DryStone. We hope this conversation piece will brighten a corner in your home or cottage, or that of a friend's. |
